Kirsty Retallick

I am Kirsty Retallick, and I am proud to be the founding headteacher of Ysgol Nantgwyn. We are a 3-16 school in the heart of the Rhondda. We have  embraced the through school vision since we opening in 2018 with the creation of a staffing structure,  a curriculum embedded in the ethos of 2022 and beyond and a refreshed view learning and teaching that focuses upon the the whole child’s journey. We are truly one school, with one voice and standardised approaches across all its component parts.   This approach is  embedded in practice we have taken from around the world and indeed from the around corner to ensure all of our pupils aspire and  become the very best of themselves.
