What was the research question?
Teaching and Learning
Whole school approach to planning engaging lessons to allow pupils to make effective progression in your subject area.
What research design was used?
Action Research. (Solving practical school problems)., Educational Research. (Examining education and learning).

Surveys., Literature Reviews., Interviews., Focus Groups.

How was the funding used to resource the design?
Staff cover., Research materials including books.
What were the research objectives?
The aims were to:
For learners to have lessons delivered to them that are consistently engaging and motivating so they are at the centre of their own learning.
For staff to be consistent in their planning and meet planning expectations in delivery
What were the research outcomes?
Still on-going work but:
More engaged learners
Learners involved in their own learning
Learners having the opportunity to achieve their full potential
How has the research process impacted the school?
Staff are working more collaboratively across both phases of the school and more staff are planning for progression.
What, if any, are the potential areas for follow-up research?
The research has finished in principle but our focus is now on Year 5 to 8
How have any changes resulting from the research been implemented?
Professional learning time once a half term to ensure consistency across AoLEs
Can the school make recommendations to other schools based upon the research?
The school could present findings and the way forward to drive whole Through School initiatives such as use of learning intentions in the classroom
