Bio

Hello. My name is Heather Nicholas, and I am the Headteacher of Tonyrefail Community School. We are a newly built, 3-19 All Through School situated on the edge of the Rhondda Valleys. We work closely with four Cluster Primary Schools and three Cluster Secondary Schools – with our Post 16 student’s joining us from across the Rhondda.

The School opened as a 3-19 provision in 2019 with 2 years still to complete on the construction of the school site itself. Although this bought it’s challenges, we have become adept at managing change and are keen to welcome anyone to join us for a visit.

Tonyrefail Community School

Tonyrefail Community School recognises its place at the heart of its community as a learning organisation. We value the rich interactions created by our relentless pursuit for excellence as each member of the community strives for success.

This ambition creates challenge and we work together, using our core values of optimism, trust, respect, positivity and honesty to support each other to achieve.

We have high expectations of each other and value the process of building our community into a safe, inclusive, fair environment which focuses on developing the unique qualities of every individual in an all-through school environment.

We all believe in our community’s purpose in providing an innovative, engaging environment where our young people grow into independent, resilient, thoughtful contributors.
