Ysgol Gymraeg Ystalyfera is a 3-18 school based in the Swansea Valley and our educational offer is based on broadening horizons and raising the aspirations and ambitions of all our learners within a caring and supportive community. The School was established in 2017 combining Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg y Wern with Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera; we are also a dual campus school with an 11-16 site in Port Talbot. As an Innovation school since 2016, we have worked with the Welsh Government on developing the new curriculum, with the focus on developing curriculum and pedagogy along the age continuum to meet the national vision.
The school is proud of its tradition, which extends over forty years. During this period we are proud of our former students’ successes in the sporting arena, in the Arts and in a range of vocational domains. Our students’ regular and continued success in external examinations, as well as within a host of extra curricular fields is testament to that excellent tradition.

This website is a natural extension of the Welsh All Age Schools Forum, which has been meeting regularly and sharing ideas since 2017 and we thank the WAG Education for funding this project.
